Welcome to Arlo's Weekly Trivia & What Have You. I really appreciate your decision to subscribe to this weekly email.
So what is this? Every Monday I will be sending out an email jam-packed with trivia goodness. It will feature 10 topically themed questions, 10 questions about current-ish events, 10 themeless “grab bag” questions (generally “rapid-fire” style), and a section containing “experimental” questions. The experimental section will consist of 5-10 questions of a non-standard format that might not be fully baked. Often these questions will be designed such that use of the internet is required à la the questions in the weekend-long trivia events held by the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and St. Cloud State University. Don’t worry I will provide explanations each week. In general, the questions in this email will lean strongly toward pop culture topics but be prepared for anything.
Answers will be provided in the following week’s email. However, if you can’t wait that long, the questions and answers are available on this webpage as soon as the email is sent out.
I hope that you enjoy the contents of this email enough to tell your friends. Email addresses will remain private, and this email will always be free! However, I have hopes of running side contests in the future that will have a small entry fee.
Lastly, this is not a competition! Please, compare results with friends, but don’t send me your answers. I will ignore you. Constructive criticism is begrudgingly accepted at arlo.lyle@gmail.com. If you are simply complaining about the style of my questions, I will likely remove you from future mailings. Every question I write is written first for me. If this stops being fun, no more emails.
